The Environmental Pollutant Laboratory

The laboratory is specialized on analysis of environmental pollutants in human matrixes, able to serve medium to big scale research projects on national and international level and offers beside existing also new research collaboration.

The Environmental Pollutant Laboratory is a collaboration between the University Hospital of North Norway (UNN), The Arctic University of Norway (UiT) and the Northern Norway Health Authority (Helse Nord). The Laboratory is managed by the Department of Laboratory Medicine, Division of Diagnostic Services at UNN.

The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation and has established high throughput methodology for analysis of inorganic elements and several groups of organic molecules. The methods and the laboratories repertoire are continuously further developed in order to serve individual research needs within the different projects.

In combination with UNN in general and especially the Clinical Laboratory of the Department of Laboratory Medicine – clinical variables for investigating health outcomes are generated, integrated and used by different research projects.

Our team consists of committed medical doctors, chemists and laboratory engineers.
