About innovation at UNN 

At UNN, we aim to develop good ideas into successful innovations. We have a dedicated innovation team to help with idea development and to assess the commercial potential of ongoing research. 

Good ideas can be simple innovations that improve our services but may not have commercial potential. These are still important and we encourage people to bring them to our attention for evaluation and potential development. However, some ideas and research can be so novel and groundbreaking that they may have commercial value for both the inventor and UNN. The process for the further development of such ideas is regulated, and the innovation team should be contacted to help with the assessment of intellectual property rights and commercialization opportunities.

About innovation at UiT 

UiT wants research results to be applied for either commercial or societal benefit. If you are a researcher with such an idea, you can contact UiT's innovation team for more information. If the idea has commercial value, it must be reported on a DOFI form to UiT's innovation team. The process for further development of such ideas is regulated, and Norinnova AS assists UiT in developing research results in a commercial direction. ​
